This is where I’m going to list all the books that I write. It’s gonna happen. For now, here’s a list of books I think everyone should read, in no particular order:

Just Mercy. It’s world changing. Just get it.

Just Ella. This book picks up the Cinderella story right after she’s swept off to the palace and realizes she did not have enough information to decide to marry the prince. In actual feminist style, it makes the prince seem wrong for her without making all men evil. I read it every 4 years or so.

Movies are Prayers. So good. Probably more fun for English or film majors than anyone else, but what I love about it is that it sets out to give a new perspective on movies, but ends up giving a broader understanding of what prayer can be.

The Lord of the Rings. Just give it a try.

Harry Potter. Hufflepuffs unite!!

Slouching Towards Bethlehem. This is the name of a long journalism piece by Joan Didion, as well as the name of a collection of her pieces. I’m referring to the journalism piece itself, but the whole collection is worth a read. Didion went to San Francisco in the middle of the flower child movement, and writes what she saw there without looking away. It’s beautiful and heart-wrenching.
